| Is this hybrid insurance? | No - we are an outsourced service partner that allows veterinarians to easily create, manage, and market wellness plans. If a practice were to build and manage their own plans in-house, create and print professional brochures, create their own exam-room posters, build a website, hire additional personnel to manage a monthly billing system, and collections, they would spend infinitely more than $29.95 a month and still wouldn’t have the assurance that they would be paid for all the services that they rendered through their plans. This has been the absolute largest misconception about what we are here for. | | | | | How does this service work - what changes for the client? What changes for the veterinarian? Short- and long-term? | For the client, on a short-term basis, they get to know in advance what type of a care their pet needs to stay healthy and how much it will cost. Long term, their pet is healthier, and they save money by paying for these packaged services with a low monthly payment vs. a large one-time fee.
For the veterinarian, the short term value is they save time and money by jump-starting their plans. We make offering wellness plans cost-effective, and easy. We provide professional marketing materials which include brochures, exam-room posters, and a website. We also provide plan templates to help the veterinarian get started. We provide an advanced online wellness dashboard where they can monitor the performance of their plans, enroll new clients, communicate with their clients, edit their website, edit their profiles, order additional marketing materials at no charge, and get customer support. The long-term benefits are increased client loyalty, increased compliance, a leveling of cash-flow, an increase in revenue, a decrease in operational overhead, and the ability to compete with the large national chains that offer wellness plans to their clients. | | | | | Can you define what a "wellness plan" is? | A wellness plan is an affordable package of services that includes a complete array of necessary care designed to help pets live longer through proactive healthcare. | | | | | What is the cost to the veterinarian for using this service? | Pet Wellness Plans Pro has a $199 setup fee and $29.95 a month recurring fee. This is a flat fee per practice location and does not change based on the number of plans your offer or the number of clients enrolled. | | | | | Do you take a percentage of the monthly fees that I charge my clients? | No – we simply add a small Pet Wellness Plans maintenance fee to the client’s monthly payment. This does not change regardless of the plan price you dictate. We approached our pricing this way so our fee would never impact a practice’s bottom-line. For example, if you price your plans at $30.00 a month, we would add our monthly maintenance fee and the client would actually pay $33.95 a month. | | | | | How many variations on the wellness plans are offered? | This is literally unlimited, as we let vets customize and create their own plans. | | | | | Can you tell me how long the company has been in business? | Pet Wellness Plans has been in business since December, 2002. It is important to note that we have only been marketing our services to practices since December 2003. We spent an entire year developing and piloting our offering in 5 local clinics. We initially rolled out a "static" offering, where our assembled team of veterinarians developed and priced 12 plans. As you can imagine, this did not go over well when we asked other vets, in different geographies, if they would like to carry our “static” plan. We found that 99% of the vets we talked to wanted the flexibility to price and create their own plans. This sent us back to the drawing board completely, where we developed the program we have in place today. Now, vets can enroll with our service, have access to 12 templates (1/2 canine - 1/2 feline) that they can customize 100%. They can change/add/delete services, descriptions, and prices. In addition, they can make up entirely new plans for any species. One thing we will always do is listen to our providers...if they want functionality, we will give it to them. | | | | | What happens if a client defaults on payment? | Pet Wellness Plan will guarantee payment on any proactive service that you actually rendered to the client before their default. This does not include reactive surgery or treatment. For example, if a client visits you, receives $150.00 worth of services, and has only paid for one month at $50.00 then skips town,Pet Wellness Plans would provide you with the additional $100.00 you are owed during the next billing cycle. We take the burden of collections away from your practice. | | | | | How do I setup my practice management software with Pet Wellness Plans? | Most Practice Management Suites have a feature that allows you to bundle services at a certain price and charge a flat rate for them. The good news is that Pet Wellness Plans is already working on integrating with the major practice management suites. | | | | | Is someone available to help build my plans and train my staff? | Yes. Pet Wellness Plans has a practicing veterinarian on staff that can assist you with building your plans. We will also provide proven templates that you can customize with ease. Your staff will also have access to Pet Wellness Plans customer support for any guidance they need. | | | | | How do you deal with sales tax? | When you include services in your plan, you simply input the service price, including sales tax if it is a taxable service. This will ensure that all of the proper taxes are collected each month. | | | |

| What if I have 2 animals, but I only want to enroll in one package, may I share their services? | Unfortunately No – The plans that our providers creat are meant to provide adequate care for one animal, which if shared would be a disservice to both animals.
| | | | | How much money will I truly save? | We know that high quality veterinary care is expensive. Our providers do everything they can to provide this care at as low cost as possible, but they will not sacrifice offering the highest quality care available for price alone. We believe that cost and value are not the same thing, and that most often as cost decreases so does the overall value. This is why we offer monthly payments vs. large one-time fees. | | | | | How long am I obligated to my monthly payment? | We only allow an annual membership. Your membership will automatically renew unless cancelled within 30 days of your 1-year anniversary.
| | | | | Can I cancel my membership anytime? Are there any fees associated with cancellation? | You may cancel your membership at anytime, with no cancellation fees if any of the following occur:
1. Your pet passes away
2. Your pet is lost for more than 30 days
3. You move to an area that does not have a participating PPV provider.
4. Your selected veterinarian goes out of business and there are no other providers in a 35-mile area.
If you cancel for any other reason before your 1-year anniversary date you will be charged either a $100.00 cancellation fee or be asked to submit payment for services rendered over $100.00. Either way, you will be required to provide Pet Wellness Plan with a 30-day notice of your intent to cancel.
| | | | | What happens if I get a new pet during my membership? Can I add them to a new plan? | No problem – You can logon to the My Account section of PetWellnessPlans.com anytime and choose a new package. Your monthly fees will be adjusted accordingly. | | | | | What if my Dr. is not listed in your provider directory? | All you need to do is tell them about our service, and tell them that you would like them to participate - then you can tell them to call us at 888-888-8508 or visit our website.
| | | | | If I give my pet away, can I transfer my membership? | No, the new owner would need to sign up for Pet Wellness Plan on his or her own.
| | | | | The package that my vet suggested is too much for me. Am I allowed to enroll in a cheaper package? | Our providers have done their best to offer enough packages that to appeal to any budget. They went to great lengths to develop cost-effective plans, which provide adequate care to your pet. It would be an injustice to your pet to cut any corners. | | | | | Can I go to any Vet I want to? | No – You will have to go to your chosen network provider. However, You are allowed to change providers every 1 Year.
| | | | | What if I want to leave my current Dr., can I switch at anytime? | If you have not utilized any of your services, you may switch your provider at anytime. If you have used any single service included in your plan, you may not choose a new provider before your 12 month anniversary date. | | | | | What is your refund policy? | We will gladly refund 100% of your money within the first 30 Days, as long as you have not used any services. If you have used any services, you will be charged a cancellation fee of $100.00 or be required to make payment in full for any services rendered; whichever is greater.
